English and Irish Family Search

Looking for other family members and a date they came to the U.S. Family lived in Delaware county Pa and maybe Chester county. I have a fourth great grandfather born 1836 in Delaware county record states father born in Irland and his name maybe Francis McKenney and wife maybe Jane. I have no proof of this but seen records for a Francis and Jane McKenney both born about 1810 in Irland....

Info i have ; Francis McKenney  born  in Pennsylvania 1836 and died 12-16-1891. Wife Elizabeth Taylor McKenney  born 1840 and died

6-12-1902 . Francis was in the civil war and i just sent to Washington for his records so i'm waiting for that. I saw one record that stated his father was born in Ireland but no name for him. Im thinking his name was Francis because every first born son was named Francis untill my grandfather witch was William H McKenney born 1918. Hoping to find something before 1860's thats as far back as i can get .

Thanks for the update ,it gives me more information.

The CW file is usually very helpful, even though it is costly ...more today than in the past.. it can yield marriages , birth information, and sometimes letters from friends and relatives of the soldier.

I said that I would work with you from Yahoo.. but now that you have posted more information  at this site, I'll do a cross post for you.

I've heard storys of a fire and the records were lost . I'm staying hopeful just have to wait up to 120 days or so. This is a very nice site but whatever works better for you i'm just happy to be going somewhere with this ive been stuck for awhile.

Update on McKenney's  in Pennsylvania. Francis McKenney  born around 1836  parts unknown.  Married Elizabeth Taylor  born around 1840  . Married 1864 one month after he returned from the war in Allegheny County Pa. Son William born 1865 . No dates as to when they moved to Delaware county Pa or where William was born . They were married at St. James P.E. Church of Pittsburgh . No reply from the church at all .

I was searching the wrong county so just because they are buried in Delaware county doesn't  mean thats were there from  . I'm now searching Pittsburgh and the 

9th regiment  Pa  Volunteers Co G  .

Yes Mike thats them . I have no info from Pittsburgh other then marriage and civil war records. Elizabeth was born in Pa her father born in Scotland and her mother born in England    . Francis was born in Pa and his father born in Ireland  but i dont have names for them yet....
